Database Dependence as a Design Strategy, with Josh Berkus of the SF PostgreSQL Users' Group
Josh Berkus will rejoin us for this provocative talk. Those of you who remember his January talk, Nifty Stuff In PostgreSQL 7.4, will know we're in for a treat.
I, for one, am intrigued by the way the topic inverts the conventional wisdom. As a programmer, I'm always hearing arguments for why I should write code independent of the database. I'm interested to hear why I should consider doing the opposite.
This is another free-pizza event, courtesy of our sponsor, Level Acuity.
RSVP to Quinn Weaver, qw at sf.pm.org, if you plan to come.
